The annual ancestral biggest religious festival in Kataragama, Sri Lanka, implying buddhists, hindus and also muslims. Dancers, musicians from all religions and elephants are parading together peacefully during ten days after the new moon of July. A very important moment of hope, share and respect for all the different Sri Lankan peoples in these times of civil war.

The content is fantastic though, the soft light of the candles creates such a great atmosphere, i just wish there was a little more shadow detail. -- - Photograph - [link] - Mines a pint - Flickr  astonishing! Absolutely gorgeous, I would love to see a celebration like this. One of the many things i=I don't like about western civilization: our ignorace regarding religion and customs.
